The second half of DJI’s Mic 2 wireless microphone system has shown up at the FCC today, suggesting DJI’s is readying to officially release the DJI Mic 2 as a standalone product.
DJI Mic 2
DJI first gave us insight into the Mic 2, when it launched the transmitter module with the DJI Pocket 3 last year. During the launch there was no mention of the receiver and the charging case.
That changes today. The FCC report shows that it is for the Mic 2’s receiver, the other half of the puzzle. With the transmitter and now the receiver going through the FCC means DJI is gearing up to launch soon. The FCC listing has a confidentiality date of 8th of July, 2024, meaning it will be launched before this date.
DJI Mic 2 features
We already know that the Mic 2 will feature a slightly updated design with an improved clip to better hold the mic to your shirt as well as updated buttons. We also know the battery on the tramsitter is also slightly larger than the previous generation. This with other improvements made by DJI will likely mean an increase in battery life.
DJI Mic 2 release date
We expect the DJI Mic 2 to launch within the first quarter of 2024. DJI often has products appear at the FCC a month or two before the official release date. The wait is on. We also expect to see the DJI Osmo Mobile 7 release in the coming months after we discovered it in the DJI Mimo app late last year.
