While digging around the DJI Mimo app, we have managed to find numerous references to the DJI Pocket 3 gimballed camera, which has recently surfaced in leaks.
DJI Pocket 3
After finding reference to the upcoming DJI Osmo Mobile 7, our team continued to dig into the latest version of the DJI Mimo app, version 1.10.4, and found multiple references to the DJI Pocket 3, a yet to be released product from DJI.
There is no direct reference to the Pocket 3, instead three references to the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 in what looks to be a dialog box that pops up related to an FPV mode. The three references are different translations in Indonesian, Polish, and Thai.
<string name=”hg211_fpv_live_shift_pin_connect_unavailable_small_dialog_content”>2. Lepas adaptor smartphone dari port universal di DJI Pocket 3. Sambungkan Do-It-All Handle ke DJI Pocket lalu hubungkan Mimo ke jaringan Wi-Fi DJI Pocket</string> (irrelevant content removed)
The reference translates to the following phrase in English, “Remove the smartphone adapter from the universal port on the DJI Pocket 3. Connect the Do-It-All Handle to the DJI Pocket then connect the Mimo to the DJI Pocket Wi-Fi network“.
DJI Osmo Pocket 3 release date
Unlike the OM 7, DJI Pocket 3 has been seen in a number of leaks over the last few months. The Pocket 3 is yet to hit the FCC database, suggesting a release is over a month away. The Pocket 3 could release alongside the OM 7, which is expected to launch in October. It would make sense for DJI to release it before Christmas and in time for present buying.
