The DJI Mavic Air is now running out of stock in China, pointing towards the DJI Mavic Air 2 coming in soon. On another note, it looks like the Inspire 3 will not be coming soon due to a shift in DJI’s focus to consumer drones.
UPDATE: DJI’s new Mavic Mini has leaked.
The news comes shortly after images of a mysterious new DJI drone were shared on Twitter looking to be a possible successor the Mavic Air and Spark drones. The new drone will most likely be combining features from the Mavic Air and Spark and will keep the Mavic name as the series is much more recognizable in comparison to the Spark.
It would also make as DJI will then have the Mavic for consumers, the Phantom for professionals and the Inspire for professionals further simplify the product range for consumers.
As for the DJI Inspire 3 not being next on the list of drones to come, it sorta makes sense. DJI is likely to sell more units of a lower-cost consumer-focused drone than one that’s for professionals who can instead just buy a new camera to add to their current DJI Inspire 2. Birthdays and Christmas are sure to be a great time for DJI and its consumer drones making it a much better business decision to hold off on the DJI Inspire for now.
Will the DJI Mavic Air 2 be on your wishlist or will you be waiting for the + variants of the Mavic 2 series? We’d love to know so drop your answer in the comments.
